We do a little bit of improv every day to stretch our acting muscles. One game we play is called "Nurse." The rules are that a nurse is in her office at school, the hospital, whatever. A patient comes in with some injury or ailment and the nurse must tend to her patient. Then another patient enters with another injury or ailment; while that student acts out his or her problem, the student playing patient number 1 must begin to mimic the second patient's problem. We do this until each student has gone up and had a turn as a patient.
Sara-HA was patient number 1 - she had the most work to do!
Becky Jo had a nasty case of conjunctivitis!
Sniffly Sliva was in dire need of a tissue.
Dana - an intense Happy Helper.
We also played "Family Car Ride" in which a group of students picks a character to play while on a road trip with the rest of the "family." Chaos ensues!
More vocal warmups with our Happy Helpers!
Our cast. ...this is the quietest they get all day...
Thursdays are Community Breakfast days. We stuff our faces for a good half hour before getting down to work. This in Andrew demonstrating.
Rockin' Randi is never without Rockin' Shades.
Running through the music with Erica, who is hiding behind the piano.
Our mascot.
Emily looks nice and sweet, but boy, you don't want to be on her bad side!
More singing of songs. Everyone has been working really hard to nail the music for our production!
A Becky Jo sandwich with some delicious condiments named Dana and Pam!
Pain-Inducing Pam lookin' rather purdy!
Andrew looking quite dapper on the day before his birthday! (We made sure to sing to him during vocal warmups.)
"You flower-pickin', nature-lovin', song-singin', lily-white daint do-gooder!" Our Evil Queen goes country in our show.
This is how Lauren and Olivia pay attention to exactly what's going on at all times...
You all look fantastic...
